While COVID-19 has kept us from gathering, we wanted to share some of the talks that would have been shared at our November breakfast.  We hope these words may provide encouragement and comfort as we navigate this troubling time.

Special Guest Speaker: Barry Throness

Topic: God’s Extraordinary Touch on an Ordinary Life

A goodwill offering will be taken to purchase bibles.

Barry, the President and founder of OCF Calgary, was raised on a farm in the Grande Prairie area. He studied Petroleum Engineering at the University of Alberta, and later in his career completed his Masters in Safety & Risk Engineering through Heriot Watt University from Edinburgh, Scotland. He has worked for ConocoPhillips and associated heritage companies for 25 years, in various roles including Operations, Asset Integrity and Process Safety Engineering. He began his career with Dome Petroleum and also worked for Canadian Hunter.

 

Barry has volunteered extensively with youth ministry and serves on the board at the Evangelical Free Church in Okotoks. He has been married to Arlene for 28 years and they have 3 adult children, with two recently married and one engaged. Barry and Arlene enjoy travelling, including back to Scotland (Arlene’s home) as well as any kind of activity in the Rockies, particularly the Kananaskis area.
