WHAT A CAMP AMBASSADOR DOES
The Camp Ambassador is a "boots on the ground" volunteer who serves as a light and a resource for fellow oilfield workers. As someone living and working in camp, you are uniquely positioned to bridge the gap between the industry and the Gospel. With the support and help from the Board of Directors of OCF Calgary, the primary goal of this role is to distribute Bibles, promote OCF resources, and foster a sense of Christian fellowship at your camp.
Key Responsibilities

Bible Distribution: Personally hand out "God’s Word for the Oil Patch" Bibles to co-workers and fellow camp residents. Make Bibles are available in common areas (lobbies, reception) where permitted.

OCF Promotion: Know about and actively share OCF digital and physical resources (our website, daily devotionals, and the OCF Bible app) with those looking for encouragement or spiritual guidance.

Promote In-Person Events: Encourage attendance at the OCF Calgary Fellowship Breakfasts in Calgary if applicable, to help workers stay connected to the faith community during their time off.

Camp Relations: Build a professional relationship with camp managers to communicate your activities and ensure Bible placement is handled respectfully during off-shift hours.

Spiritual Support (Optional): Offer to meet with and pray for individuals who express an interest or are open to spiritual mentorship.

You are currently Employed at a Camp or Manage a Camp: You should be an active oilfield worker currently working at a camp environment.

You have a Christian character: We need a committed follower of Christ with a heart for serving the oilfield community.

You can talk to people: Strong interpersonal skills are a must, with a respectful attitude toward camp authorities, and the ability to maintain professionalism while off-shift.

You are committed: Having a willingness to be a visible representative of the OCF mission is key: To share Christ with fellow oilfield workers.
