There is something special about gathering around a breakfast table with people who understand the oilpatch.

The early mornings. The long drives. The time away from home. The pressure of changing projects, difficult weather, demanding schedules, and the quiet challenges that are not always visible to others.

That is why the Calgary Chapter of Oilfield Christian Fellowship is inviting oilfield workers, business leaders, families, churches, and friends of the industry to the Oilfield Christian Fellowship November Breakfast 2026.

This downtown Calgary breakfast meeting is more than a meal. It is an opportunity to enjoy fellowship, hear an encouraging message, pray for oilfield workers, and support the work of placing Bibles into the hands of people working in the field.

These Bibles are called “God’s Word for the Oilpatch.” They are given to oilfield workers and distributed into camps, workplaces, businesses, and other places where people in the industry live and work.

Join us on Thursday, November 12

The November Breakfast will take place on:

  • Date: Thursday, November 12, 2026

  • Time: 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.

  • Location: Calgary Petroleum Club

  • Address: 319 5 Ave SW, Calgary, AB T2P 0L5

This is the final Calgary OCF breakfast planned for 2026. We would love to see you there.

Hear from Mark Banham

Our guest speaker will be Mark Banham, an Oilfield Christian Fellowship Advisory Board Member.

Mark is a coach and mentor, as well as a project and construction management professional with 36 years of experience in the oil and gas and mining industries. His experience has given him a close understanding of the people, pressures, and opportunities found across the energy sector.

Mark’s talk is titled “Rewirement instead of Retirement.” He will share how he came to realize that even with a successful career, he still needed Christ in his life. Now, after 45 years in the workplace, he is adjusting to a different season of life and looking to add value that goes beyond what comes from chasing corporate goals.

His message will be a valuable part of the morning as we gather to encourage one another and consider what God is doing in the oilfield community.

Whether you have attended an OCF breakfast before or this will be your first time, you are welcome. Come ready to meet people, share a meal, listen, and be encouraged.

Why Bible distribution matters

Many oilfield workers spend long periods away from home. They may be staying in a camp, travelling between locations, working long shifts, or living with the pressures that come with uncertain schedules and demanding conditions.

Being away from family can be difficult. Isolation, fatigue, financial pressure, stress, boredom, and the challenge of adjusting between camp life and home life can all take a toll.

The Calgary Chapter of Oilfield Christian Fellowship exists to bring the message of Jesus Christ to people working in this environment. One practical way we do that is by distributing Bibles.

Volunteers preparing Oilfield Christian Fellowship Bibles for distribution

A Bible can be placed in a camp common area, a business reception area, a truck, or a worker’s hands. It may be opened during a difficult night shift, a quiet morning, or a season when someone is asking serious questions about life and faith.

We cannot always know what happens after a Bible is given away. But we can trust that God’s Word speaks into every situation.

As Hebrews 4:12 says:

“For the word of God will never fail. It is alive and active.”- Hebrews 4:12

God’s Word brings truth, comfort, correction, wisdom, and hope. Most importantly, it points people to Jesus Christ.

Your breakfast ticket helps build a ministry community

When you attend an OCF breakfast, you are doing more than filling a seat.

You are joining a group of people who care about oilfield workers and want to see them supported spiritually. You are making space for fellowship between people who understand the industry. You are helping strengthen a local ministry that shares the Gospel through gatherings and Bible distribution.

The morning is a chance to:

  • Meet oilfield workers and supporters from across Calgary’s energy community

  • Enjoy a good breakfast together

  • Hear an encouraging message from Mark Banham

  • Pray for workers, families, companies, and camps

  • Learn more about the work of Oilfield Christian Fellowship

  • Help create awareness and support for distributing “God’s Word for the Oilpatch”

You do not have to be a long-time OCF supporter to attend. You do not have to have all the answers about faith. You simply need to come willing to connect and learn.

Bring a friend, coworker, or group

Consider who you could invite.

Maybe it is a coworker who has spent years in the field. Maybe it is someone who owns or leads an oilfield company. Maybe it is a pastor, church member, chaplain, supplier, contractor, student, or family member who wants to understand more about the challenges oilfield workers face.

You can attend on your own, but this is also a great event to attend as a group.

A table of eight gives your team, company, or church an opportunity to gather together and support a meaningful cause. Use the breakfast to start a conversation about how your organization can encourage workers and help place Bibles where they are needed.

Ticket options

  • General admission: $55

  • Table of 8: $400

  • Student ticket: $30

Help provide “God’s Word for the Oilpatch”

Some people will not be able to attend the November Breakfast. You may be working out of town, caring for family, or facing a schedule that cannot be changed.

You can still take part in this ministry by donating Bibles.

An open Bible representing God's Word for oilfield workers

The Calgary OCF website provides options to donate any number of Oil Patch Bibles or donate a case of 24 Bibles, depending on what you would like to give.

A donation helps make it possible for volunteers to put these Bibles into places where oilfield workers can find them. It gives a worker access to Scripture when they may be far from home and searching for direction, peace, or hope.

Jesus said:

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”- Matthew 11:28

That invitation is for oilfield workers too. Through Bible distribution, fellowship, prayer, and personal relationships, OCF wants workers to know that Jesus sees them and welcomes them.

A simple invitation

Come to the November Breakfast.

Buy a ticket. Bring a friend. Fill a table. Invite someone from your company or church. Pray for the event and for the workers who will receive Bibles through this ministry.

And if you cannot attend, consider donating “God’s Word for the Oilpatch” so that someone working in the field can receive a Bible.

The Calgary Chapter’s mission is simple: to share Christ with fellow oilfield workers through Bible distribution, fellowship gatherings, and support for God’s work in the oilfield community and beyond.

We hope you will join us on Thursday, November 12, 2026, at the Calgary Petroleum Club.

Together, we can encourage oilfield workers and help put God’s Word for the Oilpatch. Fuel for the Soul into the field.
